The East Cornwall Primary Care Network goal is a leading innovator in the new and developing Primary Care Network model

We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative and forward thinking pharmacy technician to work with our Network of GP practices across East Cornwall. We see our PCN Clinical Pharmacy team as a key clinical resource in delivering excellence in patient health care; and to help support our GP practices with everything about medicines and prescribing.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to provide key pharmacy expertise to GP practices within the locality. As a PCN Pharmacy Technician in an East Cornwall practice you will manage your own workload to provide patient advice on medication related issued, assist the practice team with prescribing related issues and process clinical tasks, letters, and discharges. You will help support the East PCN with core medicine optimisation activities, and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines across East Cornwall.

We will provide you with professional mentoring and bespoke coaching support so you can expand your clinical skills and confidence to best support your patients. You will work as part of a team of seven PCN pharmacists and an experienced pharmacy technician lead as well as other experienced trail blazing clinical pharmacists in the locality, all a part of the team that nurture your clinical practice. Ideally (but not essential) you will have previous experience of working in primary care, however key to this role is an innovative driven person that wants to develop into an effective clinician. This the new role represents an exciting opportunity to support practices across the locality to deliver the practices and locality vision and work plan.
