More than a 850,000 patients in England completed The National GP Patient Survey confirming East Cornwall has two of the best Practices in England.
After the toughest year and a half, passionate GP practice staff up and down the country have worked tirelessly to maintain the best level of care. The pandemic has made many noticeable changes to primary care, applying triage and embracing better communication technology which would normally take a decade to integrate in to care, has been a huge adjustment for both practice staff and patients. The feedback from the national survey has been a huge pat on the back for two practices in East Cornwall.
GP Patient Survey
The GP Patient Survey is an England-wide annual survey that provides rich data for different audiences. Data is currently available nationally, at Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) or practice-level and the website includes a practice comparison tool for an overview of up to three practices and a user-friendly analysis tool to help further explore the data.
The survey is used as a key source of insight across organisations. It provides significant information on patients’ experience of general practice.

I am incredibly proud of my colleagues across East Cornwall who have done such a fantastic job throughout the pandemic. To see two of our GP practices here in East Cornwall make the top 3% of GP Surgeries in England is remarkable. Well Done to the teams at both Quay Lane and Port View Surgery. Knowing how hard every single one of my NHS colleagues are working to provide the best patient care in a very tough pandemic has made this survey even tougher than normal for recognition. I am incredibly grateful to the patients who took the time to complete the patient survey.Paula Varndell-Dawes Strategic Manager East Cornwall Primary Care
